BS’D
Many of us imagine that closeness to Hashem happens only during extraordinary moments.
A moving tefillah. An inspiring shiur. A visit to the Kotel.
And while those moments are precious, the Baal Shem Tov gently redirected our gaze. He taught that Hashem is found just as deeply in the ordinary.
When you speak kindly instead of impatiently. When you prepare a meal with gratitude. When you quietly choose integrity over convenience. When you pause long enough to notice the beauty of a sunrise.
The Alter Rebbe explains that the purpose of the soul’s descent into this world is not to escape physical life but to reveal holiness within it. The kitchen, the office, the school pickup, the grocery store—all can become places where the Divine Presence is welcomed.
Perhaps we have spent too much of our lives waiting for extraordinary spiritual experiences, while Hashem has been patiently waiting for us in the ordinary moments of today.
May Hashem help you discover that every place can become holy when your heart remembers Who is walking beside you.
